How does Spinnza choose? ›

The winner is picked before the wheel moves, using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) rather than Math.random(). The range is reduced by rejection sampling, so no entry is even slightly more likely than another because of where it sits in the list.

Weights are applied before the draw: an entry with three chances occupies three of the total, and duplicate rows each count separately. The complete list is always used, even when the wheel is too crowded to show every name on a slice.

The animation is presentation. Once a winner is chosen, the wheel is told where to stop — it never decides anything.

Where TikTok entries come from

TikTok gives you no way to export a comment thread, so the list has to come from somewhere you control. Comments copied off the desktop site work for a small draw. A link-in-bio form works far better for a large one, and has the side benefit of giving you an email address for the winner — which matters, because a TikTok comment is a difficult way to reach somebody who has stopped opening the app.

Duets and stitches are entries too, and they are the ones most likely to get missed: they do not appear in your comments at all. If your rules count them, collect those handles separately and paste them in with the rest.

A clip that works with the sound off

The recording is vertical at 1080 × 1920 and carries the draw title, the entrant count and the winner as text on the frame, which means it still reads for the large share of viewers watching muted. There is no voiceover to miss.

Keep it short. With “include real-time pauses” switched off the recorder cuts the gaps between spins, so a draw that took you two minutes of talking becomes a clip of just the spins and the reveals — which is the version people actually watch to the end.

Multiple prizes in one video

Set the winner count, or just keep spinning — the recorder runs until you press Done recording, so first, second and third prize all land in one file with the running count on screen.
