How does Spinnza choose? ›

The winner is picked before the wheel moves, using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) rather than Math.random(). The range is reduced by rejection sampling, so no entry is even slightly more likely than another because of where it sits in the list.

Weights are applied before the draw: an entry with three chances occupies three of the total, and duplicate rows each count separately. The complete list is always used, even when the wheel is too crowded to show every name on a slice.

The animation is presentation. Once a winner is chosen, the wheel is told where to stop — it never decides anything.

Weighting roles and boosters

If boosters or a particular role get extra chances, put a star and the number after the name: “@alex *3” gives Alex three chances out of the total. The wheel shows them once and weights the draw behind the scenes.

The count under the wheel shows both numbers when weights are on — how many people are in the draw, and how many chances there are in total.

Something to post in the channel

Copy result gives you clean text for a message. A proof spin gives you a video of the draw with an Entry List ID, which is the thing that settles an argument about whether the list changed halfway through.
