Getting the entrant list

A reaction on a pinned message is the usual way in, and most giveaway bots will export the reactors as a list you can copy. A form works too, and gives you a contact route for the winner. For a small server, copying the names out of a thread is fine.

Whichever you use, paste the list here. Spinnza has no bot, does not join your server and never sees your members — the list stays in the browser you paste it into.

Weighting roles and boosters

If boosters or a particular role get extra chances, put a star and the number after the name: “@alex *3” gives Alex three chances out of the total. The wheel draws three slices for Alex rather than one secretly worth three, so anybody watching can see the odds instead of being asked to trust them.

The count under the wheel shows both numbers when weights are on — how many people are in the draw, and how many chances there are in total. Screenshot that before you spin and nobody can claim the weighting was invented afterwards.

A practical ceiling: weights that go much past ten start making the wheel unreadable. If a role is meant to be worth twenty entries, consider whether it should be a separate draw.

Running it live, or posting it after

Live is the better version if your server is the sort that will argue: share your screen in a voice channel, fullscreen the wheel, and spin it while people watch. Fullscreen mode shows the title, the wheel and the winner and nothing else — no controls, no browser.

If a live draw does not suit the timezones, record it instead. The video carries an Entry List ID, a fingerprint of the exact list you drew from, which is the thing that settles whether the list changed halfway through. Post the file in the channel with the list you drew from and there is nothing left to dispute.

Copy result gives you clean text for a message if you just want to announce it.

Keeping it civil

Announce the close time in a timezone, not “tonight”. Say up front how long a winner has to claim and what happens if they do not — a redraw is ten seconds of recording, an argument is an evening.

Discord does not run your giveaway and has no part in it. Your server rules and local law still apply, and mass-pinging everyone about it is a good way to lose members.
