FAQ

Questions.

The ones that come up most.

Is Spinnza free?
Yes. Unlimited spins, spreadsheet import, weighted entries, multiple winners, saved wheels, themes, fullscreen, the winner card and the copy-result export are all free, with no account. The only paid feature is a recorded proof video of a draw.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no signup, no login and no profile. Saved wheels live in your browser, and a proof purchase is tied to a random reference this browser generated rather than to a person.
Can I import Excel files?
Yes. Upload an .xlsx directly and choose the worksheet and the name column. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Can I paste names from Google Sheets?
Yes. Copy a column and paste it into the names box. A multi-column paste opens the same column picker as a file import, so you can say which column holds names and which holds bonus entries.
Can I upload a CSV?
Yes — CSV, TSV, XLSX and TXT. Quoted fields, embedded commas, semicolon and tab delimiters and the Excel byte-order mark are all handled.
How many names can I add?
Up to 10,000 per wheel. If a list is longer you are told, rather than having names silently dropped.
Can I import usernames?
Yes, and they are left exactly as they are. The @, underscores, numbers, emoji and accents all survive, and the winner is shown character for character.
Can I remove duplicate entries?
Yes, either during import or from the list tools. Removing them keeps the first spelling and adds the chances together, so nobody loses a bonus entry by being tidied up.
Do duplicates count as extra entries?
Yes. Duplicates are kept by default, and each copy is an additional chance to win — which is usually what a bonus-entry list means. You can remove them if your rules said one entry per person.
Can I weight entries?
Yes. Put a star and a number after the name ("Alex *3") or point the importer at a weight column. A weight is a number of chances: 3 means that entry sits in the draw three times over.
How are winners selected?
The winner is chosen before the wheel moves, from the complete list, using your browser's cryptographic random number generator with weights applied. The animation is then told where to stop.
Does Spinnza use Math.random()?
Not to pick a winner. Selection uses crypto.getRandomValues with rejection sampling, so no position in the list is favoured. Math.random() appears only in decorative animation.
Can I pick multiple winners?
Yes. Set the winner count and they are drawn one at a time, with each winner leaving the wheel first. There is also a pick-all-at-once option, which is faster but less clear to watch.
Can I save a wheel?
Yes, as many as you like. Saved wheels keep the title, entries, weights, theme and spin settings, and are stored in your browser. Clearing site data removes them, and they do not appear on another device.
Does my list get uploaded?
No. Pasted names, spreadsheet imports, wheel settings, saved wheels, the winner selection and the proof recording all happen in your browser. Your list stays in your browser.
What does the $1.99 proof spin include?
A downloadable video of the whole draw — opening frame with the title, entrant count, Entry List ID and timestamp, the full spin, and the winner screen — plus a receipt you can copy, download as text or JSON, or print. One-time payment, no subscription.
What video formats are supported?
MP4 where your browser can encode it, otherwise WebM. Both upload to social platforms. You choose vertical (1080 × 1920), square (1080 × 1080) or landscape (1920 × 1080).
What if my browser can't record?
You will be told before you can pay, and checkout will not open. The free wheel works everywhere; recording needs MediaRecorder and canvas capture, which recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari have.
What if a recording fails after I've paid?
Your purchase stays available and you can try again — up to three attempts. The entitlement is only marked used once a video actually exists. If it still fails, get in touch and we will refund it.
How long does an unused proof spin last?
7 days from purchase. If you buy one and close the tab, reopening Spinnza in the same browser finds it again — no account, no email link needed.
Is a Spinnza video legal certification?
No. A Spinnza recording is a convenient record of the draw. It is not legal certification, notarization or an independent audit.
What is the Entry List ID?
A SHA-256 fingerprint of the exact entries and weights on your wheel, shown as eight characters. Anyone holding the same list can regenerate it and check it matches the one in your video. It changes if the list changes.
Does Spinnza connect to Instagram, TikTok or Discord?
No. There is no connection to any platform and nothing is scraped. You bring your own entry list, and Spinnza is not affiliated with any of those companies.
