What this does

Put names on a wheel and pick one at random. Call it a raffle, a giveaway, a name picker or a draw — it is the same wheel, and it should take about ten seconds.

The wheel handles anything from two names to ten thousand. Above about two hundred entries it stops trying to print every name on a slice and shows a representative sample instead — but the draw itself always uses the full list, and the winner is always shown in full underneath.

Ways to get names in

Type them one per line. Paste a column straight out of Google Sheets, Excel or Numbers. Or upload a .csv, .xlsx or .txt file and pick which column holds the names.

Imports never assume column A is right. You see the detected columns, a preview, the row count, how many rows were blank and how many duplicates there are before anything lands on the wheel.

Picking more than one

Set the winner count and Spinnza draws them one at a time, so each pick gets its own moment: Winner 1 of 5, Winner 2 of 5, and so on. Nobody can win twice in the same round, and the running order stays on screen to copy out as plain text — first prize, second prize, and so on.

Turn on “Remove winner after spin” and each pick leaves the wheel before the next one. That is what you want for a series of prizes, a classroom rotation, or picking teams one player at a time.

Extra chances

Put a star and a number after a name — Alex *3 — and Alex gets three slices instead of one. Someone who bought five raffle tickets or earned three bonus entries has exactly that many chances, and you can see it on the wheel rather than having to trust it.

Duplicates work the same way and are kept by default, so an entry list that already repeats a name behaves correctly without you doing anything. If your export has a separate quantity or bonus column, point the importer at it and each row gets that many chances.

Proof, when someone asks

Free spins give you a winner and a downloadable winner card. What the card cannot do is show that the draw actually happened — anyone can type a name into an image.

A proof spin records the draw itself: the title, the entrant count, the full spin, the winner, the time it happened, and an Entry List ID that identifies the exact list you drew from. A multi-prize draw records as one file, every spin and every winner, with a summary at the end. It is a one-time payment, it downloads as a video, and there is no subscription and no account.

A recording is a convenient record of your draw. It is not legal certification, notarization or an independent audit, and it does not make your promotion compliant with anything. Running the draw is still your job.

How it spins

Press the big Spin button, click the hub in the middle of the wheel, or hit the space bar. The space bar only works when you are not typing in a field, so it never fires while you are still entering names. Quick, Normal and Dramatic change how long the spin takes — roughly three, five and seven seconds.

Nine built-in palettes, each one designed rather than generated, and you can type your own colours in and watch the wheel repaint as you go. Neighbouring slices differ in lightness as well as hue, so the wheel stays readable if you do not see colour the usual way. If your device is set to reduce motion, the spin is replaced with a short transition and the result is exactly the same.

Questions

Is the wheel spinner free?

Yes. Unlimited spins, spreadsheet import, multiple winners, saved wheels and the winner card are all free with no account. The only paid feature is a recorded proof video of a draw.

How many names can I add?

Up to 10,000 per wheel. Past that you are told the limit rather than having names quietly dropped.

Does it use Math.random()?

No. Winners come from crypto.getRandomValues, your browser's cryptographic random number generator, with rejection sampling so no position in the list is favoured.

Do duplicate names count as extra entries?

Yes, by default. Keeping duplicates gives that entry additional chances. You can remove them from the import panel or the list tools, and removing them adds their chances together rather than throwing them away.

Can I save a list of names?

Yes. Saved wheels are stored in your browser, with no account. Clearing your site data removes them, and they do not follow you to another device.

Does the wheel work on a phone?

Yes. The wheel stays large, the spin button is thumb-sized, and there is no sticky ad covering the controls. Sound is off until you turn it on.

Is a Spinnza video legal certification?

No. A Spinnza recording is a convenient record of the draw. It is not legal certification, notarization or an independent audit.
