- Add every manager or team, one per line.
- Spin. Each spin takes one name off the wheel and puts it at the next position.
- Keep going until the order is complete, then copy it out.
Do it in front of everyone
Draft order is the draw leagues argue about most. Either run it on a shared screen in fullscreen mode, or record it: one proof session captures every pick in sequence and ends on the complete order, with the time and a fingerprint of the exact list of managers.
Weighted draft lotteries
If your league gives last season's bottom team better odds, add weights. A weight of 3 is three chances out of the total, not a guaranteed first pick — which is how a lottery is supposed to work.
Reverse order
Some leagues draw last pick first. Draw the order however you like, then read it backwards — copy the list and reverse it in the league chat. The randomness is the same either way.
Snake or linear changes what you are drawing for
In a snake draft the order reverses every round, so the manager at pick one takes the best player and then waits the longest for their second. First overall is worth having, but the ends of the order are close to balanced across the whole draft, and pick five in a twelve-team league is a perfectly good place to be.
In a linear draft the same order repeats every round, so first overall picks first in every single round. That is a much bigger prize, and it is the format where a random order most needs to be run publicly. If your league is linear, it is worth deciding whether it should be — most leagues that argue about draft order are running linear without having chosen to.
Run it when everyone can see it
The commissioner drawing the order alone on a Tuesday and posting a screenshot is where league conspiracy theories come from, and it is avoidable for nothing. Either do it on a call with the league in fullscreen, or record it once and post the video — the recording carries the manager count, the time and a fingerprint of the exact list of names, which covers every question anyone was going to ask.
Announce the time in advance, too. A draw people could have watched is treated very differently from one they were told about after the fact, even when nobody actually turns up.
Managers who are not there
Draw them anyway. An order that waits for everyone to confirm attendance never gets run, and a manager who missed the draw has no more complaint than one who watched it. Put the whole league on the wheel, spin through to the end, and post the finished order in the league chat with the video or the receipt attached.
